Several years ago, I redecorated my home, with the help of my friend Jeanne. I wanted to make it comfortable, both for me and for the others who live in it or visit it. There are many beds, including three futons in the living room for extra guests, many bookshelves for my thousands of books, a couple of large CD racks for our many CDs (most of which belong to my wonderful partner, Dan, and many computers. It might not suit everyone, but it suits me wonderfully, except for being without a hot tub, a pool table, and rooms for library, office, etc. However, those are extras; it has everything I really need.
For me, I think the most important feature of a home is that it is where I feel comfortable and as safe as I ever can in a very unsettled and disintegrating world. A place where I and my friends can go for quiet and comfort. Dan and I have started to accumulate some art for the house, but he can't have the stuff he really likes, most of which is in the Museum of Modern Art.
