My home was once described by someone as "all black and white, with pictures of skeletons on the walls, and a cat named 'Death.'" While that was reasonably accurate, the conclusion that we're obsessed with the idea of death was not. It's interesting how people pick out a few aspects of your life and draw conclusions from them, but the truth is that people are usually much more complicated than can be figured out by just three facts about their lives. Particularly when those facts are interpreted incorrectly. For example, when Jeanne and I decorated the house, the black was chosen because it looks good, and very "modern"; I never think of it as having anything to do with death, I just like the color (if you call black a color).
