The nominees for Most Forgettable Al Song are, in alphabetical order:
Burbling (ZSF) -- About Rome's conquest of Carthage....or is it about Marie Curie and the discovery of radium....or perhaps a critique of Occam's Razor....? We forget. Actually, it's a pleasant little guitar instrumental that, despite having listened to it dozens of times, we can't even remember how it goes offhand.
I Don't Believe You (O) -- A Dylan cover; on the liner notes of Orange, Al writes 'This [served] as a warmup track for the musicians...I used to sing it a lot about five years ago, and it still seems just as fresh and relevant today.' Um, Al, times change.
The Elf (TWIMC) -- One of Al's lost songs, now captured digitally forever on To Whom It May Concern. Our copy is still in the mail, but we're sure it's a (yawn) fine number (zzzzz.....)
Of Al's 123 tunes available on CD or vinyl, these were the only ones to recieve absolutely NO votes. No positives. No negatives. Nothing. (Two other songs received no positive votes: Lover Man and Swallow Wind. Both managed to pick up at least one Worst vote.)
